I need to update my build up. Lots of new shit. 30 splines up front, another t case and addapter, 36"SXs. I lowered it too. Frame is 24" from the ground with 28 psi in my 36's. This winter it will get a cage. No Exo because they are fawking ugly and make your shit a foot wider. I will crush the body around an internal.

yeagley Guest | Re: Coles 4runner (12th Dec 08 at 7:28am UTC) | | Well, I just picked up a new front axle. I scored it at pick n pull. No, its not a 60 or a lame ass 44. Its from a 1989 Toyota FJ62(Land Cruiser). From the knuckle out these axles are the same as the mini-truck axles, except the brakes are bigger. The main reason I want this axle is for the 9.5" ring gear. Thats 1/4" smaller than a Dana 60 and 1" bigger than a Dana 44. This axle is also 3" wider than a truck axle. Running IFS hubs(not the wheel lockout hubs) also gives me another 3". So now I have a 61"wide Toyota axle with no wheel spacers. My Longfields will go right in. Longside shaft is the same, but I need to get a new shortside shaft. It is 2" longer. here are the two housings next to each other. Truck axle on bottom. FJ62 on top Here is the 9.5" third next to the trucks 8"

I was popping pinions like toothpicks with my stickies V8 and 44

yeagley Guest | Re: Coles 4runner (31st Jan 09 at 6:56pm UTC) | | Well I started on the front axle. I cut the botton of the housing off to get rid of the rock anchor drain plug and give me about an inch more clearance. I know all you Dana guys are going to say im waisting my time, but i dont care. Im plating everything back in with 5/16 plate. I wont get much done until my tax check comes in. The pinion will be pointed up about 10*, so I will cut and turn the knuckles too. Heres some pictures.

yeagley Guest | Re: Coles 4runner (15th Mar 09 at 11:01pm UTC) | | Im starting to work on this thing a bit. I just got my addapter to finally put a second T-case in this bitch. I cut the floor out to start on my flat belly. I am going to raise the motor and T-cases 3 inches. I still have some cutting to do to get the motor raised. Im thinking of boatsiding it too. Start the boatside right below the bottom door hinge. Im trying to convince my girlfriend that we should ditch the hard top so I can dovetail the rear about 14 inches. So all that should keep me busy for a month or two. This is what used to hang below the frame. It was about 5 inches.
I cut a little bit of floor out.
It should look like that.
