| General Lee Build up! BAR CERTIFIED! (22nd Feb 08 at 3:06am UTC) | | I have a 1981 TOYOTA PICKUP. I also have a donor 95’ TOYOTA. I’m at a stand still right now because I’m having trouble finding a shop to do my motor swap and stuff. This is what I have so far parts wise; All Pro Off Road Hy-Steer kit, 95’ Toyota rear axle, 22RE, 5:29s, 35” BF MT, 63” Chevy springs for the rear, not sure what I’m going to run up front…maybe F-150s or something, welded in the rear and open up front for now, and oh yea I cant for get the DIXIE LAND AIR HORN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL! I painted the truck when I was in high school for my auto body class project. I had the idea and was joking around with the idea with my friends and teacher, they thought it would be cool so I did it. The paint job isn’t the best, it has some orange peel to it but who cares it’s a wheeler!!!!!! Here are some pics.
i built this in my welding class freshman year

| Re: General Lee Build up 81' TOYOTA (22nd Feb 08 at 3:30am UTC) | | Just do the swap yourself, those 22re's are stupid simple to wire. And it all should bolt right in.... | |

yeagley Guest | Re: General Lee Build up! (29th Mar 08 at 6:38am UTC) | | I would think that f-150 springs would be way too long for the front. Get a set of 84-88 toyota rear springs for the front. Add a couple springs to it to make a little stiffer. That moves the front axle forward 2" more than stock springs. The easiest way to swap a 22re in is to swap the whole harness from the truck the motor came from. I put one in my 83 yota. EFI was the best thing I ever did to that truck. Let me know if you want to see any pictures of that stuff. | |

| Re: General Lee Build up! NEW PIX!!!!!!!!! (7th Aug 08 at 7:08pm UTC) | | might as well make my first post tech related hehe, for california(i dont know if its nation wide) the new engine must be from or sold for a vehicle thats newer, and the vehicle it came from must be offered by the same the manufac. and in the same class of vehicle, so in other words your golden. Also, whats up everyone im Ricky lol EDIT : Also i think you must use all of the orginal smog equip from the donor, but i do believe the char-coal canister and cat are the same. | |
