1983 Yota Gearing? (14th Dec 09 at 3:11am UTC)
ImageImageI'm getting ready to SAS my truck next week. I've got a 1983 Yota front axle to put under my 1991 pickup. I just realized that the 1983 axle might have 4.11 gearing, compared to my 4.10 geraing on the rear axle. Does anyone know for sure if 1983 had 4.11 or 4.10? I looked online and couldnt find it on a credible site. If it is 4.11, I assume I cannot run it with 4.10 in the rear, sounds like a recipe for disaster. Can I pull the 4.10's out of my ifs front end and put them in the 1983 solid axle or will that not work at all?

Thanks

Yep should be 4.10's in both. Even if one is 4.10 and one is 4.11 you should not have any problem running them together.

You like my mexican tires?haha

I've got some BFG 35x12.5 Muds waiting to go on once I do the SAS and lift. And I picked up some 15x10 black steel wheels off C-list tomight so I'll be selling the American racing wheels and mexican tires on C-list in a couple weeks. Keep and eye out, I'll give you a good deal.haha

So it should be 4.10, thats good. But you say it wont be a problem if the front is 4.11 and the rear is 4.10? Does everyone agree on that?

-Thanks for the replies

You will never know the difference if they are .1 off. People run 5.29s with 5.38 all the time with no problem.

if you have 4.11's in the front and 4.10 in the rear you have to run the rear tires 1psi lower and the fronts 1psi higher. If you just let 2psi out of the rear you'll blow your motor.
