For those that haven't heard yet, my garage burned to the ground this morning at 2:30 am. It took my buggy my dads buggy, his vette, and his 32 chevy with it. I will put up some pics later.

I was very sad to hear that this morning Travis. I am sure the buggy is the least of your worries with your dad's cars not really being replaceable:(
On the bright side, now you can build a better, faster car with all the things you have learned. If it makes you feel any better, we can still set up a pit for you in reno, but instead of worring about the race, we can get a suntan, and drink a lot of beer
It was a 220v outlet, they think it may have shorted out somehow (not sure how with nothing plugged in) you can see how it spreads up the wall.
There is still power going through the wires, the wires themself could have been old or something like a rat could have been munching on them? So when they told you that, they really ment (the wires themself somewhere touch or a wire could have touch metal) It could have been a few things, either way it sucks ass, just thought this might help you understand more on how it happend? Its kinda odd that they didnt see were it started, most fire fighters soud be able to point it out it its just a wire.
