LINK SEPERATION - Posted By bwhit (bwhit) on 11th Mar 09 at 8:16am
Well im sure this isnt going to be a issue, but i dont wana have to do it TWICE!
My axel seperation on my 4 link is sitting at about 6 1/2"
The lower link is mounted exactly in the middle of the axel tube, and im using one of Dan from ruff stuffs link towers. Uppers and lowers are sitting damn near flat, but for some reason i thought the axel seperation should be around 9-11".
Does this really make that big of a difference.

When I linked the front of my toyota this winter Dan and Rough Stuff told me I needed about 10" of seperation running 39" tires so you need at least that if not more running 47s!

the seperation at the axle should be about a quarter of your tire size , and about half that at the frame side

and you should have about 30 degrees or more of triangulation in them to keep it from walking side to side, quarter of the tire size at the axle and half at the frame works awesome as long as your links dont get to long, if you triangulate both upper and lowers you can get away with a little less than 30 degrees since uppers and lowers both are holding it

run everything on the same plane...screw separation :flipoff:

IMHO, 40 degress to keep the shit centered. It would be better to get above 8" on the diff end. Will help get the top link at a better angle too. Or, run some pretty stong joints

Well thanks all for the input. I did end up changing things in the rear. I droped the lower mounts down a little and raised the uppers. Im now sitting at 10 3/4" Smiley
