First of all a big thanks to everyone who showed up, I had no idea it was going to be as big as an event as it was. Thanks to Brian Whitford, Abby, Brian Tilton, Alotakids Keith, my son Taylor and everyone else who helped me with the behind the scenes details.... :thumbsup:

Thats what makes it fun the danger aspect. Kind of like European ralley cross when the crowd gets taken out
I think the original plan to give each driver 5 min. to complete an obstacle is the way to go instead of 20 min. per team. If you don't make it under the 5 min. then 5min. is your time for that obstacle. If you can 't pull an obstacle then you can't pull it, no strapping and getting pulled up, no getting pushed up an obstacle.......Plus, that way you get team and individual bragging rights :thumbsup:

Couple of things, only a rig that has completed the obstacle can assist (winch, anchor ,tug) another rig thru the obstacle. Any rig on the team may right a rolled rig.
That gets your team looking at each obstacle and which is the best rig to send thru first. If you want to push thats fine, but not drive around and haul them up.

I know how you feel, but I think Rob did a great job of organizing an un-organized event....if there are too many rules, then no one has fun. Next time I am sure the rules will be better layed out ahead of time....this was a learning experience for all involved.

When you were all wedged in on the first obstacle we were haveing a drivers meeting and I "clearly" stated that every "club" with more than 5 rigs /drivers had to pick their best 5 that were going to run! ALSO .... I knew it was going to take alongtime to run everyone through but more than a few clubs asked me to run everyone's club one after another so everyone could watch...... so thats how it went down, as far as the time goes it evolved as we went, Now if you want more rules and schedules and cones and timers and judges and rescue personel and food vendors then maybe you need to try your luck at Cal-Rocs or W.E. Rock or something..... otherwise join a club or put a club together and get established and we will see you next year at the invitational club challenge........lol :thumbsup:

Overall:
Rock Zombies and Disfunctional were cool and wheeled pretty decent.
No Limit Fab had some sweet rigs that did very very well. Darren talked to them and said they were great guys too. I was elsewhere just watched them wheel.
I heard the Hooligans were there but couldn't pick any out.
Then the primadona Pirates came out, wheeled like shit overall, had very little respect for the area, people, other groups, thier or others rigs etc. A couple of the competing Pirates were OK the rest were twats. Many of the observing Pirates on the other hand were cool and a bit irritated at thier showings.
Unlike Fordyce not that many people were hammered but I guess thats good since all those narrow track rigs got schooled by our little moonrocks . I heard more then a few Pirates say they would not come back and wanted the Con or Fordyce instead. I say good GTFO.

Here is what I mean:
The moonrocks are very different then other spots and you guys know. Wider axles, stiffer tires, and knowing your lines are key.
All the other groups except the Pirates IMHO watched each other take a line and evaluated it. Some changed it and others didnt. But they were willing to try it out and learn from others. Every Pirate hit Vcrack the same way :jerk you:
What about the fool in the Jeep that had his tires so low he threw his bead and then after winching out was pissed and drove with his tire 90% off like an ass. Running over your guy's rig's tow strap (buggy with 666 on it). I moved the strap after that. Also how many spotters should the driver be listening to..one or 6?
So if you think I was a bit hard on them then maybe I was since I wasn't running it with you guys. I did have fun and most people were really cool, and the :kranker: was at a much more managable level then usual events. I just thought that the comunity feel was more between the other compeditors then it was with the Pirates.

Now the Jeep I refered to above had a whole painted POR hood.
I am in pic #2 above the rig on the right's DVR front tire. Bleu jeans and a camo jacket. I was BSing with a guy I think is involved with your club that is next to me in a orange + flame beanie. He knew many more of the rigs then I did.
The other thing that irritated me was the lack of respect some compeditors showed at the staging to vcrack...holy hell give people some room. I am honestly suprised that more bumper bashing didnt happen. I guess this was due to frustration and the time issues.
just looked at your pics. I met you briefly on Fordyce last summer and was impressed with your rig. I did see your narrow width hurt you this time.

Follow the dirt back a couple miles and it is more friendly. Also Pyramid Lake is just 2 hills over. Hell I'm going to try the route Kieth was talking about and it should be 15-20minutes from my house near Frenchman's lake...great tent camping.

He had the new USAF digi cap on so probobly. I don't remember his cage being rusty, however I do remember a grey(?) jeep that was kinda crappy looking but effective and a rusty cage. I even comented on it. I just dont get throwing that much $$ into a cage and not spending another $20 on some paint for rust protection.
IMHO you need to be as good of a sport winning as you do losing, not get butthurt and start taking risks with a few thousand pound vehicle.
For example Imuz Me struggled but he and the club did what it had to do to get him through. I enjoyed that more then watching other rigs blow by. I was also amazed at that little 22R almost on it side puking gas still sputtering.

Abbazabba is jiMMythejerks girlfriend who is also a Zombie and as you can tell enjoys taking really good photos .
The pirates usually don't mean harm or to be assholes but being such a well known club they are kind of always in the spotlight (being watched) and were ever they go people always find something negative about them , no one ever spots out that they really do alot of good things . (well those that still wheel) and aren't in the retirement home, YET.

No we are not a club we are just some friends who wheel together. We wheel at a place called the rock garden right down the street from my house. Arron has seen it or we be out at JV or truck haven. Arron said you guys are coming to JV in March I planned on meeting up with him and tossing back a few brews.
The buggy is good we got the motor all tuned up and the other few items have ben taken care of I could not be happier it does real well. I am new to all of this got my first rig in June of this year a 74 K5 that I am still trying to sell then I got the jeep in july and the buggy soon after

So it appears some clubs from NV want to come and play next year. What do you think about setting up 4 courses to run, let the Nor Cal teams run 1&2 while the NV teams run 3&4, then switch. After all courses have been run by all teams, the top team from each state have a run off on 3 or 4 different courses, for bragging rights. It would have to start early or it might take both days to accomplish but it could be interesting.

My shit was there but in no shape to play with the big boys.
The shit talking and verbal abuse fuel my fire to work on my rig. So after you guys take the winter off I may have lost 1Klbs off my rig and replaced more tube.
The upside is I can leave my rig about 10 minutes from there and practice the lines w/o your capable camera crew to document my goofs :thumbsup:
How is rebuilding your rig going to make you better in the challenge. Its not just about how well your rig built but also who sits in the driver seat. :thumbsup:

My shit was there but in no shape to play with the big boys.
The shit talking and verbal abuse fuel my fire to work on my rig. So after you guys take the winter off I may have lost 1Klbs off my rig and replaced more tube.
The upside is I can leave my rig about 10 minutes from there and practice the lines w/o your capable camera crew to document my goofs :thumbsup:

I think that next year every club should have to put up an entry fee.....like $100 per club....money goes to FOE, in the winning clubs name.:beer:

How is rebuilding your rig going to make you better in the challenge. Its not just about how well your rig built but also who sits in the driver seat. :thumbsup:

You should also note that I'm not a member of any wheeling club. I just participate on the PBB, TRG, and now the RZ bulleting boards.
So building my rig to go from spectator to compeditor is my real goal. I'm mostly done but I have built 3 previous trail rigs and this is my first rock rig so I'm still making a couple newbie mistakes here and there.
no offense but alot of events are bringing money to alot of diff. orgs. and if any money is going to be put up then i would like to see it go to the first place team and what they do with it is up to them. Thats why we will be more hush hush next year about when and where, it truly will be more of an invite basis, not to discourage anyone but I would like it to be real clubs that are established and have a repore with each other, no just a group of ringers that try to run away with it all though beating them would be fun for some.....This event will be hard to beat, even if we get 5 worthy rigs there next year! Have each group compete for thier favorite cause maybe? Still getting into money with clubs can turn lame real fast. Maybe call it a beer pool or something.
