Since we have had no club challenge since" Carnage on the 'Con" I think we should get a good ole fashion club showdown going with some of the other clubs we talk shit with....mainly the pirates Any ideas, if we can't get this going then maybe a good challenge between a few good shit talkers.......... :flipoff:

Not sure how the personal challenge could work with such diff. rigs out there but it still might be fun anyways!!! :thumbsup:

The challenge could work just fine. We'll have a beer cap so the less capable rigs drivers have to drink more, which in turn will make them better drivers and level the playing field.

I like this idea, kinda get a ranking in the clubs, it would have to be more than just how well your rig does maybe something involveing a teamwork challenge or something......

Sounds like fun either way. I will be there to wheel, drink and watch. Though I am not sure in what order.

I am liking this, if we just keep it off the PBB we can probably limit the amount of slack jawed gawkers there and just keep it between the clubs, do it on a weekend and have a BIG bbq and party that night. Moonrocks sounds like a good spot though, Hammers are pretty deep for most of us, and it would be easy to pick courses, and BLM land so minimal greenies

I had to go by Whitford from TDO's house tonight to pick up a CD.

We talked a little about this and he had a KILLER idea for it: instead of just making it a bunch of individual people from clubs wheeling a course, make it a TEAM kind of comp.

So I took his idea, tweaked it a little and came up with this SUGGESTION for the challenge:

Timed event, fastest team to finish the course wins.

5 rigs per team, 1 driver per rig no spotter, but you can exit your rig and spot one another.

No rules other than stay ON the course, you are not allowed help from anyone outside of the 5 guys running, and you may not sabotage other teams.

Talking shit and bribing the judges with beer is completely legit and encouraged.

The course (at moonrocks)

Part One:

the team must set up a tent before starting thier rigs. A big-ass 5 fawkin pole, pain-in-the-ass-to-set-up fawkin 4 room with doggie door monstrosity.

Part Two:

As soon as the tent is set up, all five drivers must run the first part of the course doing whatever it takes to get through.

Part Three: One-arm axle swap!

The five competitors must then swap an axle on one of thier rigs........using only ONE ARM :flipoff: Since they can only use one arm each, they must work as a team to get it done.

Part four:

Once the axle is swapped they must run another section of trail.

Part five: 30 pack challenge.

To finish the race, all 5 competitors must slam a 30 pack of some type of shit beer, like fawkin Pabst Blue Ribbon or some shit.

again, that's just a suggestion.....

I would also suggest keeping this as quiet as possible, maybe even make this thread private, so we can stay otta the lime-light and be our normal asshole-selves.

i like the ideas of the team part. all five rigs collectively have to get through a course and can help each other. the other parts i could do without. the beer part sounds like a great way to make our sport look worse...unless we put it at the finishline and the last beer stops the clock. that way no one is driving after getting smashed.

1. You set up a tent

2. You wheel

3. You swap an axle

4. You wheel

6. You pound six beers (Yes, at the FINISH line)

it incorporates everything we do: camping, wheeling, trail fixing and drinking. it's the decathalon of wheeling.

I would add a shooting element too, but I shoot more than you guys and dunno how well that would go over.

again, it's just a suggestion I thought it would be cool to make it a little different and exciting to watch. Plus it's never been done before that I know of...

so i got a call from tony k this morning. he has offered to set courses and judge. if that is ok with everyone i will start working with him to keep him in the loop.

Brian, do you really think we need someone to set up a course and judge it? Why cant we just bring some markers, set up a line here and there, and let all the clubs decide if someone makes a line or not? Give a stop watch to one of the girls to time it. Just like the way we did the Carnage. This is supposed to be a fun club challenge, not another werock or calrocs.

I just want to see it be kept fun too. The first Carnage was so simple and such a big success I doubt it can be repeated. The 2nd Carnage was a full on comp version put on by CalRocs at Donner, I really didn't care for it. The third and last carnage held at the Hammers on back door was alot more fun, informal, just run the trail with no bullshit.

TDO won't be bringing any anorexic moon buggies that can defy gravity and turnaround within a 3' radius. I think we could stick to the main obstacles at MR and maybe throw that big comp climb in as a bonus line.

The nugget is the closest, cheapest, don't have to worry about herpies hotel to Moonrocks....but if you stay in a hotel, we are all coming over to use your shower sat night :flipoff:

I ve stayed there before. We took the dirt bikes (3) up to the room with us. haha. Was amazed we even woke up the next morning. The whole room smelled like gas

For the volume of people planning on going and camping(RVing). There is a much larger much flatter area just past the wheelin area. Plus id be a good idea to try and keep all the groups more hidden than visible from the road! Just a suggestion.

Yeah I am bringing my moble sleazy motel, headin up fri nite so I will try and find whoever is there and move back

That is a nicer spot just over the rise from where everyone usually stays. Leave it to the hard core campers to know where the best spots are

Thats good to know about the dirt bikes, TC can get down on his crf150 before we sell it and upgrade him to a 250 or a 450.... Probably just get a tent heater for the price that fuel would cost me going back and forth to a telly and not to mention the chance of a DUI leaving the party....lol....

Youre right, it would be dumb to miss this one.

Go to Reno. Stay on i80 past the nugget casino. Go north on Pyramid hwy. Little more than 20 miles you will come to a dirt road to the left called Winnemucca Ranch Road. Make that left and drive and you will drive about 6 miles and you will see the park to the left. That road is just short of a mile and you are there. If everyone is going to camp just past the main area, there is another camping place about 3/4 mile down the road.

i say we camp rite there at the staging area for the rocks , that way camp is closer when i break

Most of us spectating Creepers will be there Fri. afternoon/evening. I think the wife and I are leaving Fri. morning and the rest of the guys are leaving around noon Friday.

Looks like the weather is going to be killer. Me and like 2-3 other guys coming up Friday mid morning. I'll have my work truck with generator and 220v welder. I'll make sure to pick up another 10lb spool of wire this week.

Thats not a bad idea, but thats a lot of $$$$ for gas and diesel for us. But it still depends on what time he will get done saturday..Will have to discuss with trav. Thanks jimmy
