Started the head gasket job. Got the motor all apart. Need to do the timing chain while I'm at it. One of the guides is broken and stuff. I got the timing chain kit. Looks like its going to be a BITCH to get the timing chain cover off. Any tips? how do i get the crank pully off without turning over the motor instead? Do i realy ahve to drop the differential to get the oil pan off? -Thanks If anyone is willing to come over and help me git ir done I'd love the help. Put a chain wrench or a strap wrench on the pully to hold it.

I like to take that nut off first before I remove the accessories cause you can usually just hold the belts if the pulley slips in the belts or you've already removed everything do what kevin just mentioned you can also bolt a peice of metal that sticks into the cylinder a bit and use it for a piston stop since youve removed the head

next time put a wrench on the nut back it up against your frame and hit the starter. WAMBAM nuts loose no busted knuckles and wont break a sweat
