They call those scaler's because they are like the real truck, we looked at a Jeep Rubicon a guy built but it just didn't flex and wheel like the scorpion kit that Taylor (my son) ended up getting. Damn that was alot of parts to put together.... it's all good now except we need to get the right steering servo and paint the body up cool.....

| Re: rc rock crawler (1st Apr 08 at 2:55am UTC) | | The Scorpion's are a kick ass R/C crawler, I have one myself. Done a few upgrades to it. Not all by choice, broke the steering knuckles, upgraded to aluminum. Broke the drivelines, upgraded to T-max D-lines and bought bent lower links for more clearance, and softer front springs. Also got better tires than the stock one's, MUCH BETTER! Still want to get the tuber chassis but fawk, there about $100.00 or more.
They are fun and lookin foward to camp wheelin this year.

| Re: rc rock crawler (1st Apr 08 at 3:00am UTC) | | If you want better climbing ability, ditch that POS battery and get the one that will mount either over the servo or side by side of it for more un-sprung weight. Also, did you cut the foams that are inside the tires? And did you add weight to the wheels? ( I wrapped the rims with 6oz's of sticky tape weights on each wheel, cut the foams) for more un-sprung weight. HUGE differance. Now the it doesnt want to go ass over tea kettle evertime I climb.
Sorry if I sound like I should be hangin out in the science building basement, just tottally diggin these little crawlers

lol mad hobbies on madison and main behind taco bell and yeah it was like 214 for the kit and then you actually put it all together just like a real rig!!.... but then you need a controller and receiver and a steering servo and battery and charger. I think for about 400 and some change you can get out the door. we used some parts from TC's t-maxx to get him by til he/ I have more $ to spend on it. James bought a wheelie king kit and converted it to a crawler for alot cheaper though.
