Reid or Solid?? (5th Apr 11 at 4:55am UTC)
I really want to make some progress on things but I'm just doing my homework and saving some $$$. Probably wont do much till after my B-day but anyways, Should I go with Reid or Solid C's and knuckles? Also Should I go with chevy/dodge or ford style Knuckles? Whats the main diffrence? Any input or thoughts welcome. Thanks.

I have run both and they are basicly the same, you won't break either of them. Go with Reid, they are local in the bay area and they are big supporters of BRC. Chev/dodge outers are longer stubs than ford other than that I dont know what else is too different

just to be different i say Solid, they look beefier and have a bitchen key way through the high steer arm/knuckle area. BUT Reid is an awesome product too, soo you could probably go with whatever brand you get a deal on and never look back...

So as far as knuckles go is there any advantage to one or the other? (ford, chevy/dodge) They are priced slightly diffrent but I'm still unsure of the main diffrences other than what Travis posted about the length of the stubs. Basically just wanting to know if there is a good reason to run one over the other when building from scratch. When Reid was still Dedenbear my dad tested their prototype throttle stop in my moms Lumina. They sponsored him with a No.1 stamped throttle stop and if I remember correct a Case for his Power glide. Just a useless fun fact for ya. {Grin}

most of the stock 60 knuckles that i've seen break or crack at the top were the high steer arm mounts have been the stock ford knuckles. Although in a few crazy situations i've seen a chevy and a dodge knuckle crack too {Rolleyes}
