Of course clean air is a good thing but these over populated areas are tiny in comparison to the grand scheme of things. If someone wants to tell me how clean to make my vehicle run.... A) I don't want to pay for it because I didn't sign up for that shit when I bought it. I want the choice.... if I'm feeling spritely that year and want to save the earth, maybe I'll get a smog check. C) If my shit fails... then give me some corrective measures to chase the issue rather than trying to squeeze every penny from me, pretending you don't have any ideas. So you own a 5 gas analizer?
When it's a private business that's fine... but when it's a test only place.. they should be pandering to you like I white lib panders to obama. The only money made my the state is $8.75 and thats for the cert. The rest on the money is the shops profit.

And that choice being? Trust me, I deal with Florin road type people everyday at work. Want everything for free, and if they do have to pay they get pissed off. phil, what do you personally plan on doing about the direction our country is headed? it seems like everything that you post on here is somehow related to how the world is over because of obama but i dont see you out there being active the make changes. im not trying to personally attack you but i wiuld just like to hear your thoughts on this.

Personally I try to get people to think rather than just take everything coming from the left as fact. Basically everything rush limbaugh says is viewed as false because the left says so... so everything al gore says is right and you're cool w/ that?

I agree with you Phil. It feels like a revolution of sorts is coming. There is a bunch of new laws directed at the type of truck I drive for work. They want to regulate them and retrofit them with smog equip of some sorts. My boss basicly said if that happens the govt. will put him out of business. He can't afford that.

I don't agree with state governed life. I don't agree that the government has to tell me not to drink from a garden hose, ride in the back of a truck bed, talk on a cell phone or not to chew on a dirt bike engine block. The way I see those is one is going to do something that might harm them, then its there stupid fault. Most of us that are still around and old enough made it just fine so far in life.
As far as helping and doing my part to help the air I breath whether you think its right or not I support. You can not tell me that when you go to LA, and try to see the sun and you cant. FUCK IT, still must be ok. Must be that volcano erupting out there on the beach again. Or in the dead of cold winter here in the valley and spending an evening outside when every fireplace in the valley is ripping FUCK IT! If there is the possibility of controlling pollution that man kind makes? Why not?? Why cant we try to make it better? Population has grown with leaps and bounds over the decades, with that growth has come more vehicles, machienery and factorys concentrated in one area creating more pollutants in the air, you cant deny that. And when the dumb ass people who don't care about how rich or poorly there vehicle is running (or unfortunately cant afford to repair it) what is to happen? Are you going to tell them to fix there car? Doubtfull, So the government (big brother)is going to tell them too.

Personally I'm sick of my freedoms having new fees attached to them at will. I'm tired of being directed by a group will ill intent for the affluent of the country, while they, themselves gain wealth paramount to anything you and I will ever see.

When is it too far? When a new motor has $4k in additional shit strapped on it to only cut at LEAST a 1/3 of your mileage right off the top to allow non visual emmission. When we're in a serious oil crisis they put regulations on vehicles that FORCE shittier mileage... that makes sense.

Now where is all that extra fuel going? If matter cannot be created nor destroyed there's a big graph w/ two lines running on it. One side is optimum mileage... the other side is optimum emmission.... when those two lines cross... where do you think it happens? Every time I look at it and do the math I find that it's a wash. Which then makes the rule a gimmick to take more of your hard earned money. A luxury tax, an accomplishment tax, a real american worker tax, reverse indirect slavery.... whatever the hell you want to call it.

So since I'm not al gore, just go ahead and disregard all I've said and don't give it a chance to sink it and possibly spark a rational thought.
