Before I added a marlin front spring hanger on my 84, I put my rears up front and 5 1/2 shackles(smaller than the ones u have) and it gave me 5 inches of lift. This is what 5 inches of lift on a bone stock truck looks like. I stuff 36s all day. I will fit 37s as soon as the firewall is shaved. The firewall is going to be an issue if you dont cut it back. Dont be like all the retards that run around town with 10" of crazy unsafe lift. Its all about low center of gravity

I can not imagaine how I can possibly fit 35's with room to flex with less than a 6 inch lift. I have a 1991, no where near as much room stock as the earlier yotas. I'm at stock hight right now and the biggest mud terain I could fot without rubbing in a 31x10.5. I am a firm beiever in lifting as much as you need but as little as possible, I just can not imagine how a 3 inch lift will be anywhere near enough. Someone please try to explain it to me.

Bro.....Im trying to help you. Thats 3" of spring lift + 1 1/2" of front spring hanger lift + 1 - 1 1/2 " of shackle lift. So theres your 6" of lift. My inner fenders have the same amount of room as yours. Its the first gens that have all the room. Heres my 1990 third gen runner with NO lift at all and no torsion bars cranked up with 33x12.5x15s with 15x 10 rims. I trimed the bumper, very bottom on the front fender in the rear. Smacked the firewall with a 10 pound Ford tool and not 1 rub from lock to lock So dont tell me 35s wont fit.

Ok, If you say you've done it I believe you. So, whats your recipe? You know what parts I have so far, you know im on a budget, how should I do my SAS/lift to beable to run 35's with room to flex?

I dont know how else to say what Ive already said. Use 1985-1988 rear Toyota springs. They are 47" long and the center pin is offset 2". That means it moves the front axle forward 2". Your Ranchos wont. Sell your Rancho springs and buy rears for half the price. I think I might even have a stock set laying around somewhere. This is NOT a good hobbie to have if you dont have a lot of money. What are you doing for a drive line? Feel free to ask all the questions you want. It took me a few rigs before they were actually sick wheelers. Ive learned from my mistakes. I have no problem helping someone out that doesnt know what they are doing. And I meant front drive line.

Thanks Bro. I deffinatly it would be sick to be able to look at your rigs and talk to you and compare trucks and stuff. I was thinking I would get a rear driveline for cheap of craigslist and then shorten it to the size I need for the front. What did you do?

You have the right idea with using a rear shaft to get rid of the CV, but the stock slip will not work. You could buy a marlin 8" slip. Good quality but $$$$$. You could get a Trail Junk (Gear) 10" slip. Typical trail gear junk quality and still $$$$$$$$ Or run a square drive line and never worry about it. The down side of a square shaft is the noise and vibration over about 25 mph, but your building a rock crawler, not an arena truck. I have about $40 into my square shaft and have about 20" of slip

It will only vibrate and make noise in 4wd, so as long as you aren't driving around the street in 4wd you should be fine. Square tube drivelines are very strong and cheap!

make sure your 2.5" sq is receiver hitch tubing. they sell it at blue collar supply.
