After a great weekend at the Rubicon Trail Foundation (RTF) Volunteer Leader and Land Stewardship class, our good friend and RTF Treasurer, Dennis Mayer, took a hard fall.
Dennis passed last night at about 2AM. We will miss you dearly my friend.
Please keep your thoughts and prayers with Dennis and his family.

RIP Dennis Mayer, you truly were a great man.
This is very sad, Dennis you and your family are in my prayers. I am really tripped out by this, I just had about an hour converstion with him about life and our responsibilities and getting involved in trail awareness on mon. the 10th and had to tell him I couldn't make it this year to the vlls class and he said theres always next year and he would let me know as long as I kept him informed on when we did another Bikini carwash!... RIP Dennis you will be missed...............

Words can't explain how special Dennis was to many of us. I met Dennis 4 years ago at the first Cantina. I have since worked closely with him for the last two years, as a board member of the Rubicon Trail Foundation. He taught me so much and we've had some great conversations... like breakfast this past saturday morning at VLLS.
Sunday, everyone at class knew he had fallen that morning, but didn't find out the extent untill mid-day. It floored us, all of us and we were basically speechless. Dennis had this ability to get through to everyone he came in contact with and that's very rare these days.
One thing is certain, Dennis would want us to press on and fight for what he believed in. So I'm going to make sure you and Travis make next years VLLS list and I hope to see you there.
AMEN brother, looking forward to it....thanks.
