where to get these at locally???? - Posted By jiMMythejerk (jimmythejerk) on 8th Jul 08 at 12:02pm
just the larger snap rings.I need some that do not bend in half allowing the drive flange puck to sneak out.

you lost me. What do you mean "bend in half"?
I would think you could use any 60 hub snap ring. Mine are the spiral type. The flanges I bought from adam ant dont use a spring. The slug is held to the cap via the cover bolts. Call Gearman tomorrow.....

Here is what happens. I put the gear in the hub, then the small axel snap ring(spiral) then the larger spiral snap ring in the hub. The the oring and cap get screwed to the puch with allen cap screws. walla.

Well recently my passenger side unit(entire drive puck) falls out into the beadlock wheel still bolted together and the axel snap ring is in the unit. the large snap ring is still in the housing. So the axel snap rings pops off allowing the puck to slide out to the larger snap ring and ends up sneaking past it(bending it over the lip to make room for this to happen)

Ive been to sean before and he gave me the small spiral axel ring which obviously failed too. I need a thicker walled outer(large snap ring)I will stop in there tomorrow on my way too work probably. He will just laugh again at me and tell me to buy better drive flanges. I Just dont see how new drive flanges with the same snap rings are going to do any different.

I just dont want to have to keep an eye on the pucks every trip to wack them back in place.

they use the same set up I already have for snap rings. Thats why I want to try the larger/thinker style in the picture..

Ha, I just bought a set from Adam Ant, they are Summits I think, maybe Tera's. I paid $169 bucks suckah!!!! {Kiss}

First goes the slug, then the axle snap ring. Then the plate with the holes for the cap screws. The plate cant come out once the large snap ring is in. Even if the cap came off and took the plate with it, how could the drive slug get past the axle snap ring{Confused} ? Are you retarded, or am I the retared one.....?

Re: where to get these at locally???? - Posted By Keith (psmurfbeotches) on 9th Jul 08 at 5:32pm
Oh, I see now. You are not putting the retainer plate in before you put the large snap ring in....huh? The large snap ring does not hold the puck, it holds the plate in that the cap screws to.....

You nailed it keith. I never had the retainer plates. I couldnt figure out what makes my pucks differ from others. i just thought it was a spacer splate in the other kits. So wonder if the mt logan ones just do not come with that or if i never got the plates. POOP. where to get just plates now i guess.....

here is what came with my set years ago - Image no axel snap ring and no retainer plates. thats why everyone who runs them has this happen i bet. Damn it. guess ill buy another set from someone. lol

Measure the layout on the bolt holes. Those look just like the ones I got from Adam Ant. Mine measure 1 15/16" between the holes.
