Suck!!! I cant wait to get my new gears put back on my locker, the spare I threw in the front at Fordyce is an auburn limited slip and slips at the first site of a good size rock, you can stab the brakes and get a little bit out of it but not much.......
At the con this weekend I barely got soup kitchen with it... soup bowl was easy didnt slip too bad there, the worst was the last big rock on the right in the box trying to get over it and turn hard left, I couldnt get power to the driver front and the pass. front was in someone elses huge gear oil spill from an earlier break...got a little pissed with it and eventually lost the weld on my rear driveline tube (thanks AAA! no they do good work, but the weld did snap clean made for an easy repair though) Limited slips are lame Oh well its a spare but just irritated me this weekend, I need my front locker back.....
Did the gear oil get cleaned up?
Did the gear oil get cleaned up?
That reminds me, is sweep a good thing to have with you on the trail?
I have one in the front of my cruiser as well. I dont like it but it keeps the front axles alive.

That place is a mess and people keep treating it like hell, its damn irritating, after getting pulled out I went back with a flashlight to looking for a piece of my driveline for like 1/2hr that I couldnt find (that someone threw in my bed) and someone did a half ass job of cleaning it up...I dont think anyone at the box knew it was there until I got stuck in it, my buddy Jon was there the night before and said people rolled spilled and didn't care one bit about it, from now on I guess Im bringing two spill kits so I can clean up others bullshit...lots of leaky rigs throughout the trail too not just the box, the amount of fresh oil up there all over the place was horrible expecially given the current situation
All that being said and given the current box situation RTF was there at the con this week and I spoke to them about it, basically its getting blasted they (water board, dot, etc) are opening up hearings for public comment but I dont think its gonna do any good, the place has been treated pourly for over a decade and you can blame all the assholes that spill fluids, leave trash and shit in the open... its not hard to clean up, dig a hole(or wag bag) and clean up your spilt fluids (which you really shouldnt loose anyway even in a rollover unless you need new seals on your junk)
I dont want to see the box go but they have a damn good case against the 4x4 community on it....I have torn down my axles on the trail and have never spilled a single drop of oil there is no excuse for it, fix your junk before going wheelin so its not leaking, and work on your stuff with common sense and respect for the trail... period, we left saturday mid day instead of friday afternoon just to repair a leak in my buddys t case before going..... or we could have been like all the other assholes and left a gear oil trail for markers like there is all over that place, I just dont understand people, on a good note the slabs looked pretty good with all the clean up work that was done there on the oil stains

you dont have longs in that with a V8? Cole ran the limited slip on stock shafts and still broke once in a while.... longs are cheaper now too, low 600 I think.... mine is great for a spare I guess but this was the first trip running it all the way thru and I did not like it one bit
you dont bust street drivers. d27 and 327 go fast 7k rpm v8.![]()
[quote=23795 Cole ran the limited slip on stock shafts and still broke once in a while....[/quote] lol...I broke 6 stock berfs and stripped 1 shortside shaft with that same posi last year. I came out in 2wd from the box and buck 3 weeks in a row
