buiding another driver. 5.7 TPI, 4l80e, 3.8 atlas, coil overs, nitro bumps, swaybars, HP44 front welded with cromos, welded 9" rear, and 37" tires. Hope to be done by summers end.
Nice! That will be fun to rip around!
just ordered a UPS truck load of parts from RUFFSTUFF. Next week I'll order all the DOM material for the links and cage.
Cool at the rate you work it should be done in another week or so
it would be if I had more money!
scored a set of 38.5 tsl sx's on 15x10 champion bead locks today!
Perfect fit!
My Ruffstuff order came in today!
I started to remove all the unwanted crap. Thanks for all the help Dave!
Full stuff. About 7" of up travel. I also notched the rear fenders to fit a TJ flare.
does your wife hate you?
actually she helped me pull the engine last night....
Nice you gonna build a 68 next
Dont waste any time now...
Are u gonna run the double angle iron shock super sweet dual shock mounts
bought this a while back for my next project. Im changing the input to 32 spline so it will bolt to the 4L80E without an adapter.
All back together!
I knocked out the rear 4 link and front 3 link over the weekend.
Lookin' good. When is the maiden voyage?
end of summer Im guessing...we'll see.
Yea right, with the way your going its going to be memorial.
harness and computer came in the other day.
Everything clears after cycling the suspension. I will be installing the engine, tranny and t-case this weekend.
You are an inspiration for sure. If you ever need a hand let me know.....
cool, thanks man. I only work on it for 1 hour every day, and usually stare at it for another 4 hours.
I stuck the engine in the hole last night to check clearances. Tight fit for sure! the distributor is about 1/2" from the firewall and the panhard at full compression is 3/8" away from the crank pulley.
cool, thanks man. I only work on it for 1 hour every day, and usually stare at it and drink beer for another 4 hours.
Fixed it for you
No build updates for 5 days?? Or do you only post on the Book of Face! You need to keep the masses entertained... LOL
Wow, someone is actually interested in this build?
Updates- Engine, tranny and transfer case installed. (I borrowed a tranny from Larry, because Papa Smurf is building mine.)
I took the atlas apart, re-drilled it so its clocked almost flat. The 4l80e has a funny bolt pattern that doesn't match to the atlas. After re-drilling the atlas, no adapter was needed! Advanced wanted $450 for their adapter. No thanks.
I had a fuel tank left over from another project. Its a 19.7 gal home made tank. I plated the bottom of it with 3/16" plate and modded it for an in tank pump. (thanks for the help Dave). Last night I mounted the tank underneath and installed a fast fuel fill neck in the side of the body.
This weekend I think I'll stay home and bend up the roll cage and coil over hoops.
I have a feeling I'll be wheeling this turd on 4th of July!
way too fast! good work
Good job cheeks, can't wait to see it!
That cage is looking sweet. Did you install that bad ass trans that you were having built? Can't wait for your rig to be done so that there is another vehicle to drag my clapped out rig from the trail! Lol
OH SNAP!
Tranny should be done next week (fingers crossed)
